Benefits of Invisalign

Patients at our dental office in Carthage, MS, love Invisalign because it:

Is Removable

Your aligners are removed during meals, so there are no dietary restrictions as there are with braces.

Is Discreet

Patients love the fact that Invisalign uses clear, discreet aligners. No one will know you are wearing them.

Improves Oral Health

Orthodontic treatment can help prevent tooth decay, as crooked teeth can make it difficult to thoroughly brush and floss. Correcting misalignment can also help treat bruxism and TMJ disorder.

Enhances Your Appearance

By straightening your smile, this cosmetic dentistry treatment can enhance the overall appearance of your grin.

Paying for Your Clear Aligner Treatment

We do not want financial barriers to prevent patients from receiving the dental treatments they need for healthy, beautiful, and functional smiles. Here is how we help make your Invisalign treatment more affordable.

Insurance

We work with most insurance plans and providers to reduce or even eliminate your out-of-pocket costs. We will verify your coverage before treatment begins so you can plan and budget.

Financing

For those without insurance or to help with costs not covered by insurance, our Jackson-area dental practice accepts CareCredit® financing. This allows patients to break the cost of treatment into affordable monthly payments.

Invisalign Treatment Timeline

Treatment times will vary depending on the severity of your orthodontic issues. However, here is a typical aligner treatment timeline.

Consultation

During your initial consultation, your dentist will examine your mouth and discuss your goals to determine if Invisalign is right for you.

Impressions

Next, your dentist will take impressions of your mouth. These impressions are used to plan your treatment and craft your custom aligner trays. We use state-of-the-art digital impressions, instead of uncomfortable putty impressions.

Treatment Begins

Once your aligners are ready, you will begin treatment by wearing the first set of Invisalign trays. You must wear your aligners for at least 22 hours a day for the best possible results. We will provide you with all the instructions you need to make your treatment a success.

Check-Ups

Every one or two weeks, you will switch to a new aligner. You will return to our office in Carthage, MS, about every four to six weeks. This allows your dentist to monitor your progress and ensure your treatment is progressing as it should.

Treatment Complete

Once your treatment is complete, you will be given a retainer. This should be worn every night to keep your teeth straight for years to come. Forgetting to wear your retainer as instructed may mean your teeth shift position over time, undoing the effects of treatment.

Caring for Your Aligners

Remove to Eat

Remove your clear aligners before eating or drinking. Be sure to use a protective case when you are not wearing them to prevent damage or loss.

Maintain Oral Hygiene

Practice good oral hygiene by brushing and flossing your teeth. It is also a good idea to clean your aligners or at least rinse them before putting them back on your teeth.

Clean Aligners

Clean your clear aligners with a soft-bristled brush and mild soap or nonabrasive toothpaste. Rinse with cool or warm water; do not use hot water, as it can warp the trays.

Frequently Asked Questions  About Invisalign in Jackson, MS

Q. How long does clear aligner treatment take?

A. This will depend on the severity of your concerns. Mild concerns can take as little as six to 12 months to resolve. More severe issues can take about 18 to 24 months. Your dentist will be able to provide an accurate timeline during your initial consultation.

Q. What happens if I lose or damage one of my clear aligners?

A. If you lose or damage one of your aligner trays, contact our Jackson practice as soon as possible. In some cases, you may be able to begin the next set in the series, and in some cases, you may need a new aligner.

Q. Is there an age minimum for Invisalign treatment?

A. Invisalign treatment is best for patients who are responsible enough to wear and maintain the aligners. Many children and teens are not ready for this responsibility. During your consultation, you and your dentist can determine if Invisalign is appropriate for your child. If your child cannot commit to wearing the aligners for the required time, traditional braces may be a better treatment option.
